Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny

Jack Black's new comedy film, what I was surprise is that they didn't featured "Greatest Song in the world" in the movie. The film wasn't as funny as I expected to be.
Personally I perfer "School of Rock" than this film.

5/10

Byousoku 5 centimeter

The same crew who made "Voice of A Distant Star" And "Beyond the Clouds" now presents Byousoku 5 centimeter directed by Makoto Shinkai. The new trailer has been released and "Damn" that is one hell of a beautiful animation. Here is a snapshot of it:

This is a youtube compression but you'll have a clear idea what its like.

Teaser:

You can download the way better quality at http://5cm.yahoo.co.jp/teaser/index.html

Well my impression was quite good but I'm still thinking that it wouldn't be as good as Beyond the Clouds, but it's good to see this crew are attempting to do a genre rather than Sci-fi.

Recent Films

Belleville Rendez-vous
A French animation, I seen the documentary of this before and now I have the chance to watch it. The style of drawing was wierd but it got my attention. Also there are some cool animated shots. For example the combination of architecture building that resembles New York and Paris in the 1950's, the camera pans around from a certain angle.

Dark Tales in Japan
Ok I don't know why I took this out, maybe it's because I haven't seen much horror films later. There are 6 mini stories within this DVD:
1 - "Would you like to hear a story Tale?"
2 - "The Spider Woman"
3 - "Crevices"
4 - "The Sacrifice"
5 - "Blonde Kuridan"
6 - "Presentiment"
Ok most of these are a laugh, but my favourite one would be "The Sacrifice". Maybe it's becuase there's a hot girl staring in it or maybe the use of CG was amazing. For example, the monster head model was created but the crew use the green screen and animated the head, especially the eye animated.
There were many rememberable CG effects such as the transformation in the "Spider Women" and in "Presentiment", a steel scrafold collapse and broke the man's neck.
Funny story was "Blonde Kuridan", I couldn't help myself laughing at the whole film.

Shaolin Soccer
I decided to borrow this cause I only have the VCD version and I didn't get the Specials But I watched it and it was good. I like Steven Chow statment "The budgetting doesn't matter as long as the film is enjoyable to the audience."
I was really surprise when the older brother does a flip and headbutts the guy was a CG, it was well made while most of the CG's can be told that it's made by computer for example the ball and trainers scene.

Yo Yo Yo

Yesterday I invited Fraser to come around my place to play Canis Canem Edit and I can tell he enjoyed it so much. Later that day my mom demanded me to do some DIY job and Fraser helped out. Also I taught Fraser how to play Mah Jong and it was fun while I haven't played it for ages and I had some good hand even though we had 3 players...

Today I brought an External Seagate 320gb Hard drive for my new mac which will arrive this coming week :), Anywhere it was cheap the hard drive for only £80 at PC World and there's only 1 left!!!

Downfall

The film based on WW2 film in Germany Berlin. It is where Hitler is the Furher and the main character is his secretary. The story revolves around Hitler and his subordinates and the Russian invasion. Credit to the actor and make-up artist who looks very like Hitler.

It is a long film I watched it today but fell asleep near the middle. The real deal is that 50 million people died in Berlin and 6 million jews died in the camp.

Hello, trying to post more stuff:

Great beer ad even though it's quite random:
Did you know Guiness drink was originally for pregnant women drink because Guiness has enough iron.

Japanese snooker pro who does amazing tricks:

Wii looks very promising with it's new slogan: "Wii will like to play"

Super Smash Bros- Brawl rocks!!! I'm glad that Snake has his explosive stuff in the game since they first decided not to include firearms during in development. Snake seems to be an awesome character with his lying on floor, cardboard box trick, CQC techniques and his trusty RPG bazooka gun. I'm not surpise that Fox is the newly included character, but I'll be impressive if they include Sonic the Hedgehog:

Hey Hey Hey

Well now I gave in my work last week in now it's assessment week so I don't need to care now until next week.
Here's my 20 second animation for my module:

My presentation for composition did went ok since I last about 9 minutes but I was nervous since my teacher was sitting across me.
As for animation, I showed my final piece and Neil questioned me "what's a Pinata?". At first I thought he was kidding but Kevin (2nd animation teacher) explained it to him.
Overall I think I done pretty well since I have a good reply to the teacher.

To celebrate my hand-in, my friend invited me to go clubs with his friends. At first I got kicked out since I wasn't wearing the right dress-code. So we decided to go Broad Street, and hell it was a pretty good night since last time.

Oh yeah I have a new game called Canis.Canem.Edit, aka Bully. A very impressive game by Rockstar.

My Rating
Graphics: 9/10
Characters: 9/10
Gameplay: 9/10
Music: 9/10
Story: 8/10
Overall: 9/10
