Rocky Balboa

Yesterday I went with Tom to watch Rocky , this is the sixth film in the saga.
The story shows that Rocky still reminesing the past, his wife has passed away from cancer and things with his son isn't going well. His son blames his father that he lives only in his shadow.
Only half way of the film, they showed the theme song which Rocky typically trains hard. I mean I been waiting for this moment!!
The thing I liked about the thing is the issues of Rocky experiences, is it his ego that wants him to fight? or is it he wants to move on forward?
Is Sylvester Stallone trying to point out in this film that he's still active to act?
Well the film is actually quite predictable, yet very satisfrying. Maybe it's because I grew up watching it.

Absolutely one of the interesting upcoming animated films that is shown in 2006 to 2007.
It is produced by the same team as Tokyo Godfather and Perfect Blue.
A proper footage of the film.

Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII
Beautiful Artwork by Tetsuya Nomura
I had the chance of playing this game, this is the fourth installation to the compilation of Final Fantasy VII series.
This time the story revolves around Vincent Valentine who is one of the heroes in the Jenova war (FFVII). The story focuses mainly about Vincent dark tragic past, even though he looks like 27. In fact he's a 60 year old man, he was an ex Turks gunman(Shinra personal agents.)
The reason he couldn't age was that he tried to stop Hojo from making Lucrecia unborn child (Sephiroth, later antagonist in FFVII who is the strongest in FFVII universe) being experimented on.
The result for meddling Hojo affair ended up Vincent being shot dead. Lucrecia found Vincent on the floor, Hojo proceeded experimenting Vincent's body with Jenova cell and tranformation abilities. However Vincent's body rejects the Jenova cells and Hojo decided to leave his experiment. Lucrecia tried to save Vincent, only to realise that it's getting too late because Vincent body is decaying.
She decided to use her previous research that she done with Grimoire Valentine (Vincent's father, who researched on Chaos & Omega. As well as resulting his death, that Lucrecia blames herself for, so she tries to stay away from Vincent knowing that they had feeling for each other.)
Vincent now contains Chaos, but when he awoken he couldn't found Lucreica or Hojo.
The game sets a year after the events of Advent Children, this time Deep Ground Soldier has invaded the surface and kidnaps citizens who has pure mako (Deep ground Soldier kills anyone who has Geostigma - Jenova cells) to artificially create Omega Weapon.
The gameplay really sucks, the headshot doesn't really work. The only place that you can get 100% headshot is basically the center of the face, I always aim at the forehead which always doesn't work...
The control for Vincent is really bad as well, Vincent doesn't seem to flexiable to move around much. In Chaos form, you couldn't jump twice which seems really bad as this form supposingly can fly...
J-Rock star Gackt is now 'G' first class soldier who is named Genesis. Supposingly be a pre-experiment for Sephiroth. As well as the forerunner and reason for the hidden SOLDIER organization known as Deep Ground and Tsviets are the spawns of his evolution.
Even though he appears in the secret ending, he is more involved in Zack's story in "Crisis Core". Apparently Sephiroth is the one who beated him Genesis and Angeal (Mentor for Zack as well as owner of the Buster Sword)
The graphics is brillant, both cutscene and FMV/CGI has pushed the PS2 to the limit. However the setting for the game level seem rather repetitive and depressing.
My Rating
Graphics: 9/10
Characters: 9/10
Gameplay: 5/10
Music: 7/10
Story: 8/10
Overall: 7/10

I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK (싸이보그지만 괜찮아 Ssaibogeujiman Kwaenchanha)

Story:"Young-goon, mentally deranged and frequently electro-charging herself with a transistor radio, has been admitted into a mental institution. Firmly believing herself to be a cyborg, she refuses to consume like a human being. Il-soon is another patient, who catches the eye of Young-goon and soon becomes a close friend. Il-soon is now confronted with the biggest task – to cure Young-goon’s mental problem and have her eat real food."
Well the director is the genuis Park Chan-wook who directed the vengence sequence (Oldboy, Sympathy for Lady Vengance and Mr Vengance), who is directing a love film which sounds so crazy and interesting. I mean it's about two mental patient fall in love in the Mental institue.
The Host
괴물 Gwoemul
South Korea's blockbuster 2006 film, I have the chance of watching this. This film was in part inspired by an incident in 2000 in which a mortician working for the U.S. military in Seoul dumped a large amount of Formaldehyde down the drain. Which plays a heavy role to the mutant origin.
I watched this because of the visual effects. In terms of the story, it was weak. The theme was family bond yet as an audience. I don't think I get what the directors wants to point out exactly, maybe I need to watch it again.
The visuals are amazing, the beast felt so real. The animation actions are realistic and believable.

Movies Review
Death Note the Movie
Based on the highly popular Shounen manga "Death Note", released in 2006. I haven't finish reading the manga yet...
I watched this film and I was very surprised that it closely resembles the manga as well as some new twists. It is mostly faithful to the manga (with some slight alterations such as the addition of Light's girlfriend Shiori and the circumstances in which Light and L first meet), starting with Light in a university and flashing back a year or so to him receiving the Death Note. It ends with his first meeting with L.
Ken'ichi Matsuyama who plays as L, his acting highly resemble the wierd L however the film doesn't show his comedy side that much compared to the manga.
The stars for the main characters are:
Light Yagami: Tatsuya Fujiwara (Who was the main protangonist in Battle Royale)
L: Ken'ichi Matsuyama (Who stars as Shin in Nana)
Another suprising feature is that the main theme song is "Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dani California"
8/10
Family Guy the Movie
Released in 2005, it is actually a 3 episode in one. Family Guy, What can I say? It is one of the best cartoon comedy out there.
Based mostly on Stewie, for example his journey to Hell wasn't pleasent and tried to be nice which wasn't working till Brian pointed it out. He founds his future self who first thought to be his biological father and it turns out that his future wasn't as good as it is...
